Snow White, Cinderella, the little matchstick girl, the federation of witches, the guild of step-mothers and all the other surviving characters gathered for an emergency meeting. The meeting lasted for days and finally they came up with the final solution, to seek an answer from the Wise One, a great sage of immense knowledge. The answer given by the Wise One was simple: "Let all who doubt our existence come and see us for themselves." With these words, the gates to the Land of Fairy Tales was opened and everyone was welcome to visit for as long as they desired. From then on, anyone can live the wonderful tales passed down through the ages and be part of them. Anything and everything is limited only by our imagination, in the world of FairyLand.

Article From Site: Blade Mistress is a high-fantasy, server-centric, ultra-low bandwidth 3D MMORPG. It's high-fantasy because we wanted to make a swords-and sorcery game. It's server-centric because we wanted to make money, charging players a modest monthly fee, and to do that, we needed the security only provided by a server-centric model. It's ultra-low bandwidth because bandwidth cost lots of money, something we didn't have, and wouldn't have for most of the initial development process.
We realized that, for a small garage developer like us, the only possible way to make a MMORPG was to make one that used very little bandwidth, so our design decisions were guided from day one by the overriding need to minimize bandwidth.

Illutia began under the original name "Aspereta" In April of 2003. It was released mostly just as a test run to see if there was still a market for 2d mmorpgs.
