Astrarn

[Quick Zoom]
The real story

Astrarn Mindsinger was 'born' in 1982 and played over 15 years in the Greyhawk campaign world which is again in use as the main D&D world. On the first page is a brief snippett of his adventures culminating in the TSR 20th aniversary 20-100Lvl dungeon. At the time of his ascension he was 19/21/10 Fighter/Mage/Cleric. Though many players have come and gone some have been in what have essentially been the same campaigns for over 20 years.

The name Astrarn Mindsinger is itself a translation from Tolkiens Quenya- the nearest thing there is to 'real' elven. His true elven name means 'Elluorian Lirior' which translates into common- sorry English - as Spiritsinger of the stars. The surname of his consort similarly comes from the Quenya name Lissoloriel Mirandome which means sweet golden woman of the dawn. I did dabble many years ago at extending Tolkiens elven. I did Latin to Gce and actually went on to teach French, two of Tolkiens route languages (tho the second like English stems from the first). However then computers advanced enough to play RPG's and that was that for this particular lofty amibition.

The first picture is actually a human warrior but I used it cos it actually kind of looks like I did when I created the character- at least in my own minds eye (yeah Ok the vanity trait came from me too). Ive even still got a pair of leathers like those in the pic .The second is Astrarn as leader of The Dark Alliance in RDL and the 3rd as leader of the Tower of High sorcery in Wizard Wars.
